This brand new house sits on a prominent site in downtown Birmingham, MI.  The owner wanted an open floor plan with a strong connection to the side walk.  KA created a large family room with two pairs of french doors that lead to an elevated veranda.  This gives the owner an elevated platform to relax and watch the passers by.
